This Tradie Code of Conduct sets out the minimum standards ofprofessionalism, honesty, and behaviour expected of all tradespeople and tradebusinesses using the Link My Trade (“LMT”) platform.By creating an account or continuing to use the platform, you agree to complywith this Code in addition to LMT’s Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
1. Purpose and Scope
Link My Trade is a directory and connection platform designed to help Clientsfind independent Tradies.
This Code exists to support trust, transparency, and platform integrity.This Code does not create any employment, agency, partnership, or supervisoryrelationship between LMT and any Tradie. Tradies operate independently and remainsolely responsible for their business activities.
2. Professional Behaviour
Tradies must act in a professional, respectful, and lawful manner at all times.
This includes:
• Communicating honestly and clearly with Clients
• Treating Clients, other Tradies, and LMT staff with respect
• Complying with all applicable New Zealand laws and regulations
Tradies must not engage in behaviour that is misleading, deceptive, abusive,intimidating, or harmful.
3. Accuracy of Information
Tradies are responsible for ensuring that all information displayed on their profileis accurate, current, and not misleading.
This includes, but is not limited to:
• Business name and contact details
• Trade qualifications and registrations
• Areas of service
• Insurance status (where applicable)
Failure to maintain accurate information may result in warnings, suspension, orremoval from the platform.
4. Licensing, Compliance, and Insurance
Tradies must hold all licences, registrations, and approvals required to lawfullyperform their services.Tradies are responsible for:
• Complying with health and safety requirements
• Meeting regulatory and industry obligations
• Maintaining appropriate insurance where required or industry standard
Any verification or “Verified” indicators shown on LMT represent point-in-timechecks only and are not endorsements or guarantees.
5. Client Engagement and Work Responsibility
All work arrangements are made directly between the Tradie and the Client.
Tradies are solely responsible for:
• The quality and standard of their work
• Worksite safety
• Timeframes, pricing, and deliverables
• Addressing workmanship concerns or disputes with Clients
LMT does not supervise, manage, or control trade services.
6. Reviews and Feedback
Tradies acknowledge that Clients may leave public reviews based on genuineservice experiences.
Tradies must not:
• Request, offer, or incentivise false or misleading reviews
• Attempt to manipulate ratings or feedback
• Harass, pressure, or retaliate against Clients over reviews
• Submit reviews about themselves or competitors
Reviews represent user opinions and may impact a Tradie’s visibility orcontinued participation on the platform.
7. Quality Guideline and 4-Star Standard
Link My Trade promotes a 4-star or higher rating as a quality guideline reflectingprofessionalism, reliability, and client satisfaction trends.
This guideline:
• Is aspirational and non-guaranteed
• Does not represent an endorsement of workmanship
• Does not replace Client due diligence
LMT may, at its sole discretion, take action where review trends, conduct, orother information indicate risks to platform integrity.
Actions may include warnings, reduced visibility, suspension, or removal from the platform.
8. Safety and Serious Concerns
Tradies must immediately notify LMT if they:
• Lose required licences or registrations
• Are suspended, deregistered, or prohibited from operating by a relevant authority
Allegations involving serious safety risks or unlawful conduct may result inimmediate suspension while LMT assesses platform suitability.
9. Platform Integrity and Use
Tradies must not:
• Attempt to bypass LMT systems or controls
• Use bots, automated tools, scraping software, or AI systems to extract platformdata
• Harvest user data for purposes unrelated to legitimate job engagement
• Use the platform in a way that damages trust, safety, or LMT’s reputation
10. Enforcement and Discretion
Compliance with this Code is a condition of access to the platform.
LMT may take action at its sole discretion, including issuing warnings, suspending accounts, or terminating access without refund.
LMT is not obligated to provide reasons, advance notice, or appeal processes, although it may do so at its discretion.
11. Relationship to Other Documents
This Code supplements LMT’s Terms & Conditions and does not limit LMT’srights under those Terms.
If there is any inconsistency, the Terms & Conditions prevail.
